    Is OPENCAST strong enough?

    OPENCAST is made with strong material and is sufficiently rigid and strong.

    How long does it take to make and fit the OPENCAST?

    The customization procedure takes from 10 to 20 minutes, which is shorter than the current cast.

    Isn’t OPENCAST too hot to place on the skin after heating?

    The skin-pad side is not hot for the skin. But do take caution not to get burned when taking OPENCAST out of the oven after heating.

    Can OPENCAST be applied at home?

    OPENCAST is a medical device and its customization procedure must be performed by a medical professional.

    Can OPENCAST be removed at home?

    Consult with doctor for removal. OPENCAST clamps are not reusable.

    Can I take X-ray films while wearing OPENCAST?

    Yes, OPENCAST is radiotranslucent. But for clearer picture, remove OPENCAST.

    Doesn’t the cast get loose after a few weeks from muscle atrophy?

    Visit the doctor and reshape OPENCAST to fit the limb’s changing sizes.

    Can OPENCAST be applied to areas other than limbs?

    For the time being, OPENCAST can be applied only to the limbs. Products for the neck and the spine are currently being developed. Product development for small fractures such as fingers, toes, etc. are in planning stages.

    Can OPENCAST be reheated and reused?

    Should the doctor deem it necessary due to undesirable shaping or any other reason, OPENCAST can be reheated and reapplied 2 to 3 times. However, should the outer layer of OPENCAST be damaged in any way or should OPENCAST be partially cut to fit the patient, reusing OPENCAST is strictly prohibited. Casts are classified as disposable products that cannot be reused.
